About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

Position Overview

SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)

The IT Data Architect defines and governs Capital Health's enterprise data architecture to support clinical care, operational excellence, analytics, internally developed products, workflow automation, and responsible artificial intelligence. The role establishes the long-term information architecture, domain models, integration principles, cloud data platform direction, governance patterns, and technical standards required to make enterprise data trusted, secure, interoperable, reusable, and AI-ready.

The incumbent works across Product Engineering, AI Engineering, Software Development, Data Engineering, Analytics, Clinical and Business Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Compliance, and operational leadership. The Data Architect translates enterprise strategy and healthcare information needs into reference architectures, roadmaps, decision frameworks, and solution guidance while ensuring that individual projects create reusable capabilities rather than isolated data assets.

This role is an enterprise architecture and technical leadership position. It does not primarily build every pipeline, own business reporting, or manage product adoption. Instead, it defines how information should be structured, integrated, governed, protected, and made available across the organization, and it guides Data Engineers and solution teams in implementing those standards.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and advanced relevant experience may be considered.

Experience:

Demonstrated success designing enterprise data, information, integration, or cloud architectures for complex organizations. Healthcare provider experience, regulated data experience, and leadership of data platform modernization are strongly preferred.

Other Credentials:

DAMA CDMP, TOGAF, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, cloud architecture, HL7/FHIR, or related credentials are preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Advanced knowledge of enterprise data architecture, conceptual and logical modeling, domain architecture, master and reference data, metadata, lineage, data quality, lakehouse and warehouse architecture, APIs, streaming, healthcare interoperability, security and privacy, cloud platforms, AI-ready data patterns, semantic models, vector and retrieval architectures, architecture governance, and technology roadmapping.

Special Training:

Training in enterprise architecture, DAMA data management disciplines, Microsoft Azure and Fabric, healthcare data standards including HL7 and FHIR, cybersecurity, privacy, responsible AI, architecture review, and executive communication is preferred.

Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:

Must demonstrate enterprise systems thinking, strategic judgment, influence without authority, intellectual curiosity, disciplined decision-making, clear communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and the ability to balance long-term architecture with pragmatic delivery needs.

Usual Work Day:

8 Hours; flexibility may be required to support stakeholder sessions, releases, implementations, production issues, and scheduled maintenance.
