About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

As a Junior Data Analyst, you will turn complex trading and market data into actionable insights that directly influence how and where we trade. You will build reporting and visualisation tools that the team relies on to steer our strategies, uncover opportunities hidden in large datasets, and help us make smarter, faster, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced quantitative trading environment.

Working closely with traders and quants, you will have responsibility from day one: testing ideas, challenging assumptions and bringing fresh perspectives to the table. You will also collaborate with the quant team to develop and refine our models, from building datasets and running back tests to validating performance in live trading. This is an opportunity to have a tangible impact on trading performance, combining rigorous analysis with practical problem-solving to help drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Turn data into decisions: your analysis will directly shape how and where we trade
  • Build the reporting tools management relies on to steer the business
  • Work through large volumes of trading and market data to find the edges others miss
  • Be the traders' go-to analyst: test their ideas quickly, challenge assumptions and bring your own insights
  • Work with the quant team to sharpen our models, from building datasets and back tests to proving what works once it's live
