About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze complex datasets to model price elasticity, identify demand patterns, and spot competitive gaps. Recommend and execute pricing adjustments to optimize both volume and yield.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Alignment: Deliver rigorous reporting and actionable insights to management. Define key marketplace metrics and help build narratives that guide regional and global strategies.
  • Process Optimization: Identify structural gaps and automation opportunities within existing markets. Evolve and improve current pricing logic to keep pace with a rapidly changing competitive landscape.

  • Solid understanding of multiple-sided marketplace dynamics, including surge pricing, incentive optimization, and price sensitivity.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt quickly as the business scales and competitive dynamics shift.
  • Proven experience managing complex data projects and the ability to effectively communicate and partner with mid-to-senior stakeholders across functions.
