About the role

We file this job under Data Leadership, by the work the posting describes.

Data leaders run data teams or design how a company's data fits together. Managers hire, set priorities and answer for whether the data work pays off; architects choose the systems and the shape of the data.

Expect years of hands-on data work, experience leading people or projects, and the ability to explain tradeoffs to executives.

Unlike a senior engineer or analyst, most of a data leader's week goes to people, planning and decisions rather than building.

Overview We are looking for a Manager, Data Science & Analytics to help lead website analytics, connecting site performance to the broader cross-channel customer journey. The Manager will oversee two direct reports and will be responsible for guiding their work, developing their analytical capabilities, and ensuring the team consistently delivers accurate, high-quality, and actionable insights. Responsibilities Strategic Analytics and Storytelling Build clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations that translate complex analyses into a cohesive story, highlight business implications, and recommend actions. Develop strategic insights that connect website performance to the broader marketing and consumer ecosystem, rather than evaluating the site in isolation. Analyze customer behavior across the funnel to understand website’s role in driving awareness, engagement, consideration, conversion, and broader business outcomes. Bring together signals across site, media, campaign, product, promotional, and other relevant data sources to develop a comprehensive view of performance. Move beyond reporting KPIs to identify the drivers behind performance changes, emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Develop strategic points of view and proactively identify opportunities for deeper analysis rather than relying solely on incoming requests. Client and Cross-Functional Partnership Present findings and recommendations confidently to senior stakeholders and respond thoughtfully to follow-up questions. Help stakeholders understand not only how the site is performing, but also how it fits within the broader consumer, marketing, and commerce journey. Serve as a trusted analytics partner to client and internal stakeholders. Translate complex or ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches. Partner closely with strategy, media, experience, account, and other analytics teams to connect insights across disciplines. Balance stakeholder needs with analytical rigor, team capacity, and the level of effort required to deliver meaningful insights. Website and Cross-Channel Measurement Lead analysis of website traffic, engagement, customer journeys, conversion, and commerce performance. Evaluate how different marketing channels, campaigns, and consumer touchpoints influence behavior on the site and contribute to downstream outcomes. Support measurement across major product launches, campaigns, promotions, and other key business moments. Partner with media and other analytics teams to create a connected view of performance across channels, while clearly defining the website’s role within the broader customer journey. Strengthen cross-channel measurement to clarify how upstream marketing influences site behavior and business performance. Help evolve measurement frameworks as platforms, tracking capabilities, attribution approaches, and business priorities change. Team Leadership and Development Directly manage and develop two team members, providing clear direction, coaching, and ongoing feedback. Help team members progress from data collection and reporting toward insight generation, storytelling, and strategic thinking. Review analyses and deliverables to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the larger business question. Prioritize work across recurring reporting, strategic analyses, and ad hoc requests based on business impact and available resources. Establish clear ownership and expectations while giving team members the support and autonomy needed to solve problems independently. Promote consistent analytical practices, documentation, quality assurance, and measurement definitions across the team. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in digital analytics, marketing analytics, web analytics, or a related discipline. Previous experience managing, mentoring, or developing analysts. Ability to synthesize multiple data sources and turn findings into a cohesive business narrative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when translating analytics for non-technical and senior audiences. Strong understanding of digital customer journeys, website and e-commerce measurement, marketing channels, and conversion funnels. Experience analyzing performance across multiple marketing channels and connecting that activity to website behavior and business outcomes. Ability to synthesize multiple data sources and turn findings into a cohesive business narrative. Experience with Adobe Analytics, GA4, or comparable digital analytics platforms. Experience with data visualization and reporting platforms such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar tools. Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large or complex datasets. Familiarity with AI prompting to support exploratory analysis, hypothesis generation, and insight synthesis, with sound judgment in validating outputs and protecting confidential data. Strong analytical problem-solving skills and an instinct for investigating the reasons behind changes in performance. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on analytical work in a fast-paced environment. Agency, consulting, e-commerce, consumer electronics, or retail experience is preferred.
