About the role

We file this job under Data Governance, by the work the posting describes.

Data governance staff keep a company's data accurate, documented and used within the rules. They agree what key fields mean, set up quality checks, track who owns each dataset and look after master data.

Postings ask for SQL, a governance tool such as Collibra or Informatica, knowledge of privacy and data rules, and a lot of work with other teams.

A data engineer builds the systems that move data; governance staff set and check the standards that data has to meet.

Join Colgate-Palmolive, a caring, innovative growth company reimagining a healthier future for people, their pets, and our planet. Guided by our core values—Caring, Inclusive, and Courageous—we foster a culture that inspires our people to achieve common goals. Together, let's build a brighter, healthier future for all.

Role summary/purpose

As the Data Strategy & Transformation Manager/Sr. Manager, you will help advance Colgate-Palmolive’s Global Data Strategy by enabling enterprise AI and analytics to scale through strategic data management. You will help prioritize a focused, measurable portfolio of data products and transformation initiatives that advances analytics and AI readiness by making data more governed, automated, trusted, catalogued, and reusable—accelerating time to insight and supporting an agentic future.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Global IT, Data Governance, Global Functions, Divisions, and Analytics teams to assess and advance the maturity of our data transformation efforts.

Partner with domain business owners and data delivery teams to identify intended outcomes, baseline measures, value indicators, adoption measures, and evidence of realized business impact.

  • Data Transformation Health Tracking: Develop and maintain an enterprise view of data-transformation health in partnership with Data Governance, Data Platforms, and Data Delivery. Use quantitative and qualitative inputs—including stakeholder surveys, interviews, maturity assessments, adoption measures, operating metrics, and feedback—to evaluate progress, identify barriers, and highlight areas requiring leadership attention.

  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop clear, concise, and decision-oriented communications that build understanding of the enterprise data strategy, portfolio priorities, transformation health, value creation, risks, and recommended actions. Tailor messaging and executive materials for senior leadership, governance forums, business stakeholders, data practitioners, and broader employee audiences.

  • Collaborative Leadership & Inclusive Culture: Demonstrate commitment to Colgate-Palmolive’s core values of Caring, Global Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement. Leads with high emotional intelligence and empathy, fostering an inclusive, cross-functional environment where diverse perspectives are valued and teams are empowered to collaborate effectively across global functions and divisions.
