About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

Turn data into insights that help our product teams make better decisions

At AutoProff, we’re changing the way used vehicles are traded across Europe. Every day, thousands of vehicles are bought and sold through our platform, connecting professional car dealers across markets.

We’re looking for a new colleague to join us as our new Product Data Analyst and be part of our Data & BI team, based at our headquarters in Vejle.

About the role

As our new Product Data Analyst, you'll work closely with our product squads and feature teams, helping them understand their business areas through data and make informed decisions.

A key part of your role will be building reports and dashboards together with the teams, but it's not just about delivering numbers.

We’re looking for someone who takes the time to understand the problem behind a request, asks questions and challenges assumptions to make sure we're solving the right problem.

You'll act as a data partner to the teams, advising them on BI best practices and helping them get more value from their data.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards that give product squads and feature teams insights into their business areas.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Advise teams on BI best practices and how to use data effectively.
  • Challenge assumptions and help teams ask the right questions before jumping into solutions.
  • Take ownership of data requests and analyses, from understanding the problem to delivering useful insights.
  • Help teams become more confident and independent in using data to support their decisions.

What we're looking for

We imagine you have a background in Business Intelligence or data analysis and enjoy working at the intersection of data, technology, and business.

More specifically, we're looking for someone with:

  • Experience working as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst or similar.
  • Solid SQL skills and experience using SQL as your primary query tool.
  • Experience working with Metabase or a similar BI and reporting tool.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards that support business decisions.
  • An interest in understanding the business behind the data, not just the numbers.
  • Confidence in working directly with stakeholders, asking questions, and challenging requests when needed.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain data and insights in a clear and practical way.

Beyond your technical skills, we're looking for someone who is curious, structured, and comfortable taking ownership. You enjoy working with others, understanding different perspectives and finding practical ways to turn data into something useful.

Nice to have

It's a plus, but not a requirement, if you have experience with:

  • AWS Athena, Glue and S3.
  • Kimball data modelling and medallion architecture.
  • Data mesh and decentralised data platforms.
  • Data contracts.

Why join AutoProff?

At AutoProff, you'll become part of an international company that is changing the way used cars are traded across Europe.

You'll work with colleagues across countries and functions in an environment where there is room to take ownership, share ideas and influence how we do things. We move quickly, work closely together and value people who are comfortable taking responsibility while also asking for input when needed.

As part of AutoScout24 Group, we combine the pace and hands-on environment of AutoProff with the opportunities and international reach of one of Europe's leading automotive marketplaces.

In this role, you'll work closely with the teams developing our products and have the opportunity to influence how data is used in their everyday decisions. You'll get exposure to different business areas and the chance to develop both your technical and business understanding.

Ready to join us?

If this sounds like an opportunity you'd like to explore, we'd like to hear from you.

We review applications on an ongoing basis and may close the position once we have found the right candidate.
