We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.
Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.
Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.
Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.
The Senior Data Management Analyst specializes in planning, designing, developing and performing assessments on data and structures to ensure integrity, completeness, quality, and appropriateness of formats, records and structures. Uses manual and/or automated methods and procedures to test output as established by product management, client specifications, and business/governance rules.
Plan, design, develop and perform quality assessments on data elements and structures to document and evaluate integrity, completeness, quality, and appropriateness of formats, records and structures.
