Job description
PermitFlow is redefining how America builds. We’re an applied AI company serving the nation’s builders, tackling one of the largest information challenges in the economy: understanding what can be built, where, and how. Our AI agent workforce helps the fastest-growing construction companies navigate everything from permitting and licensing to inspections and project closeouts – accelerating housing, clean-energy, and infrastructure development across the country.
Despite being a $1.6T industry, construction still suffers from massive delays, wasted capital, and lost opportunity. PermitFlow has already delivered unprecedented speed, accuracy, and visibility to over $20B in development, helping contractors reduce compliance time, de-risk projects, and scale with confidence.
As the U.S. enters a new capex supercycle across data centers, factories, housing, and renewables, joining PermitFlow means building the AI infrastructure at the core of every construction project driving the next wave of reindustrialization.
We’ve raised over $90M, most recently completing our Series B, from top-tier investors including Accel, Kleiner Perkins, Initialized, Y Combinator, Felicis, and Altos Ventures, with backing from leaders at OpenAI, Google, Procore, ServiceTitan, Zillow, PlanGrid, and Uber.
Our HQ is in New York City with a hybrid schedule (3 in-office days per week). We prefer NYC-based candidates or those open to relocation.
Role OverviewWe’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to help shape how PermitFlow uses data to make better decisions, improve operations, and accelerate growth. This is a full-stack data role that combines analytics engineering with hands-on data analysis, giving you the opportunity to own problems end-to-end, from building reliable data models to uncovering insights that directly influence business strategy.
You’ll work closely with teams across engineering, product, operations, and customer success to tackle complex business questions, develop scalable data solutions, and help build a culture of data-driven decision-making. As we scale, you’ll also play a key role in exploring how AI and emerging technologies can transform the way we work with data.
Own analytics end-to-end: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact opportunities, investigate complex business questions, and turn raw data into actionable insights that drive meaningful outcomes.
Build scalable data infrastructure: Design, develop, and maintain reliable data models, pipelines, and analytics workflows that make high-quality data accessible across the organization.
Drive strategic decision-making: Embed with leaders in Customer Success and Operations teams to define key metrics, evaluate business performance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, growth, and customer outcomes.
Make data accessible and actionable: Develop intuitive dashboards, reporting solutions, and self-service analytics tools that empower teams to independently explore data and make informed decisions.
Shape our AI-powered analytics workflows: Experiment with LLMs, AI-assisted analytics tools, and emerging technologies to automate repetitive work, accelerate analysis, and continuously improve how we use data.
Champion data quality and best practices: Establish scalable standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, and governance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and trust in our data.
3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a similarly analytical role, with a track record of delivering meaningful business impact.

A full-stack data mindset: You’re comfortable working across data analysis and engineering, with deeper expertise in at least one area and a genuine interest in developing your skills in the other.
Strong analytical thinking and business intuition: You thrive in ambiguity, ask thoughtful questions, and know how to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
An ownership mentality: You’re proactive, resourceful, and motivated by solving meaningful problems rather than simply delivering reports or maintaining infrastructure.
Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies: You’re excited to experiment with LLMs, AI-powered analytics, and new tools to improve efficiency and push the boundaries of what’s possible with data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills: You can effectively partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicate insights clearly, and influence decisions across the business.
