What you’ll work on

Full posting

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will operate as a strategic partner to finance and engineering leadership, architecting the next generation of cost governance and forecasting models across AWS and GCP.

You will bring an agent-first mentality to everything you build: before designing any new process, workflow, or reporting mechanism, you will default to asking "can an AI agent own this end-to-end?" — and design accordingly.

  • Architect cost governance and forecasting models across AWS and GCP

  • Own deployment of agentic AI tools that monitor spend and flag anomalies

  • Design governance frameworks that let AI agents operate safely and independently

  • Query and model billions of rows of granular billing data

  • Mentor junior and mid-level analysts and represent FinOps in cross-organizational initiatives

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will operate as a strategic partner to finance and engineering leadership, architecting the next generation of cost governance and forecasting models across AWS and GCP. Our billing datasets run to billions of rows a day, so the ability to handle data at scale is key. You need to be equally fluent in finance fundamentals (pricing, cost modeling, forecasting) and in querying and reasoning about massive, granular billing data.

Demand for Analyst roles

New Analyst postings at the employers we follow are up 19% over the last 5 weeks compared with the 5 before.

Weekly new Analyst postings at the same employers, from the week of August 17 to the week of October 26. The fewest in a week was 966, the most 1,389, and the latest week had 1,357.

Counted from the hiring pages we’ve followed for at least five weeks, so employers we add don’t look like growth. Updated weekly.

About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
