Job description
About Onos Health
Onos Health’s mission is simple but ambitious: ensure every healthcare dollar goes toward delivering the highest quality care. Today, nearly 30% of U.S. healthcare spending is wasted due to ineffective care and administrative burden caused by misalignment between providers and payers.
Onos is addressing this by building the AI platform that enables health plans to understand clinical care at scale. By transforming unstructured clinical documentation into actionable insights, we help payers make faster, more informed decisions, identify opportunities to improve quality and reduce waste, and ensure more healthcare dollars are directed toward delivering better outcomes.
Come join a category-defining company and transform how healthcare is managed in the U.S.
Why Onos?
Meaningful impact: Help solve one of healthcare’s biggest challenges by improving quality while reducing waste.
Ownership: Take on significant responsibility from day one and shape a rapidly growing company.
Direct collaboration: Work alongside experienced founders with deep expertise in healthcare, AI, and product development.
High-performing team: Join a transparent, collaborative, and execution-focused culture.
Build something new: Help define the next generation of AI-powered healthcare analytics.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to turn health plan data into the reporting, analyses, and insights our customers rely on.
You’ll work hands-on with claims, authorization, eligibility, and clinical review data from our health plan customers. You’ll build and maintain the analyses and dashboards that show customers what’s happening in their populations: utilization trends, provider variation, cost, and the impact of programs running on the Onos platform.
This role works closely with our data science, product, and customer teams. This role is tightly focused on core analytics – tackling complex analytical questions independently. You’ll own analyses end to end, from digging into data to presenting results to customer stakeholders, and you’ll help make repeatable analyses into standard reporting in the product.
What You’ll Be Doing
Customer Analytics & Reporting
Build and maintain customer-facing reports and dashboards covering utilization, cost, provider performance, and program outcomes.
Run analyses that answer specific customer questions, such as where spend is concentrated, which providers are outliers, and how a program is affecting utilization.
Support ROI and impact analyses by preparing data, running calculations, and checking results against agreed methodologies.
Prepare findings for customer meetings and present results to analytics and operational teams at health plans.
Data Onboarding & Quality
Explore and analyze structured, analysis-ready customer data feeds (including claims, authorizations, eligibility, and clinical documentation) to extract key insights.
Investigate data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies, collaborating closely with Engineering and customer teams to ensure accurate reporting.
Partner with Data Engineering to define business logic and data requirements needed for downstream analytical workflows.
Build checks that catch data issues before they reach customer reporting.
Product Support
Turn recurring customer analyses into standard metrics and reports that can be built into the platform.
Help define metric logic and business rules so numbers are consistent across customers and reports.
Give Product, Engineering, and Data Science feedback on what customers ask for and where current reporting falls short.
Collaborate Across the Company
Work with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Clinical Operations, and Customer Success on customer engagements and internal projects.
Be a go-to resource on how our customers’ data is structured and what it can and can’t support.
What We’re Looking For
4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics or a related analytical role.
Hands-on experience with healthcare claims data; experience with authorization, eligibility, or clinical data is a plus.
Strong SQL skills, working proficiency in Python for data analysis, and proven ability to independently answer complex, ambiguous analytical questions.
Experience building dashboards and reports in a BI or notebook tool.
Solid understanding of descriptive statistics and common healthcare metrics (e.g., PMPM, utilization per 1,000, cost per member).
Careful about data quality, with a habit of checking results before sharing them.
Ability to explain analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
Proven experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders is required.
Comfortable working in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up.
Healthcare payer, provider, or health technology experience strongly preferred. Behavioral health experience is a plus.
Exceptional references from colleagues and former managers.
Why This Role Is Unique
At Onos, Analysts aren’t a back-office reporting function.
You’ll work directly with health plan customers, see how your analyses inform their decisions, and help shape the reporting built into the Onos platform.
If you like digging into messy healthcare data, getting the numbers right, and seeing your work used by customers, we’d love to talk.
