About the role

We file this job under Data Leadership, by the work the posting describes.

Data leaders run data teams or design how a company's data fits together. Managers hire, set priorities and answer for whether the data work pays off; architects choose the systems and the shape of the data.

Expect years of hands-on data work, experience leading people or projects, and the ability to explain tradeoffs to executives.

Unlike a senior engineer or analyst, most of a data leader's week goes to people, planning and decisions rather than building.

CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organization on earth via our 347 million pallets, crates and containers. We employ approximately 13,000 people and operate in 60 countries. Through our pioneering and sustainable share-and-reuse business model, the world’s biggest brands trust us to help them transport their goods more efficiently, safely and with less environmental impact.

What does that mean for you? You’ll join an international organization big enough to take you anywhere, and small enough to get you there sooner. You’ll help change how goods get to market and contribute to global sustainability. You’ll be empowered to bring your authentic self to work and be surrounded by diverse and driven professionals. And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and scaling of core data management capabilities, including data quality, metadata, master and reference data, content and document management, and data storage and operations.
  • Coordinate delivery of data management activities across business, technology, legal, compliance, and regional teams to ensure consistent standards, controls, and ways of working.
  • Embed data management into major technology and business programmes such as ERP, analytics, and digital services, ensuring data requirements, risks, and dependencies are fully addressed.
  • Establish and maintain data governance processes, including forums, decision‑making structures, and minimum control standards to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • Build and lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for delivering data management improvements, including programme management, analysis, and change enablement.
  • Develop and implement the long‑term operating model for enterprise data management, defining data roles, responsibilities, workflows, and capability uplift across the organisation.
  • Oversee adoption of data management tools and platforms, enabling greater operational efficiency, improved data quality, and consistent data practices across regions and functions.
  • Partner with architecture and technology leaders to define future‑state operational and analytical data models, ensuring alignment with broader transformation strategies and strategic priorities.

As Head of Enterprise Data Transformation, you’ll lead the enterprise-wide transformation needed to strengthen Brambles’ data management capability and establish trusted data as a genuine strategic business asset.

You’ll be here to drive the transformation, not simply inherit BAU. You’ll mobilise the programme, create momentum and bring the delivery discipline, adoption and change needed to build a sustainable capability, before transitioning long-term ownership into the appropriate business, governance and capability teams.

You’ll bring together Technology Services, Digital, Enterprise Data Management, Data Governance, ERP/Simplify, Global Process Owners, Global Process Leads and business leaders around one coordinated enterprise data transformation roadmap, connecting the programme to business priorities, risk reduction and future ERP readiness.

You’ll act as the central point of coordination and escalation for the Data Management Programme, creating transparency around progress and ensuring success is measured by more than milestones. We’ll look to you to demonstrate tangible improvements in data maturity, control effectiveness, adoption and business value.

Crucially, you’ll help make the transformation stick. You’ll lead the change, communication and data literacy agenda, strengthen data ownership and stewardship, and work with HR, the Transformation Office and business leaders to embed the operating model and ways of working needed for sustainable BAU ownership.
