We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.
Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.
Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.
Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.
ABOUT THE AGENCY
David&Goliath is an agency that adheres to one simple philosophy: Brave. To be brave, to inspire people and brands to take on their goliaths. To create lasting impact that the world can feel and truly embrace. This is our purpose and for over two decades, we have never wavered from it. We are not made for everyone. We are made for the few who believe that purpose isn't just a business proposition, but a way of life. And for those who believe we can achieve the unthinkable, together. David&Goliath is a collaborative, empathetic, and team-oriented culture that believes in taking on challenges that others might walk away from. Because, the truth is, nobody ever became great without first being brave.
ABOUT THE ROLE
David&Goliath is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Analytics team in a highly integrated, client-facing role dedicated to one of our key client partnerships.
This is not a traditional reporting role. The Senior Analyst will help the client and agency understand how paid media, organic social, CRM, website behavior, and other available data sources work together across the full customer journey.
The right person will be equally comfortable working with data and working with people. They will independently analyze performance, identify patterns and opportunities, develop clear recommendations, and actively participate in conversations about what should happen next.
This person will be fully embedded within the larger team and collaborate closely with Strategy, Account Management, Media, CRM, Social, Creative, and other partners. They should be comfortable presenting directly to clients, contributing a point of view, and helping shape strategic recommendations rather than simply preparing analysis behind the scenes.
The work is analytically complex, but the end goal is very human: understanding how marketing can better connect people with pets who need loving homes.
What we're looking for
5-7+ years of experience in marketing analytics, digital analytics, media analytics, CRM analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, ideally within an agency or similarly cross-functional marketing environment.
Demonstrated experience independently analyzing integrated marketing performance and developing recommendations.
Experience working across multiple marketing channels rather than specializing exclusively in a single platform or discipline.
Strong understanding of digital marketing measurement across paid media, organic social, CRM, and web analytics.
Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 and website behavior and conversion analysis.
Experience with native social platform analytics and paid media performance data.
Familiarity with CRM, email, lifecycle marketing, customer segmentation, or customer-level data.
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize, combine, validate, and analyze large datasets.
Experience with dashboards and data visualization platforms like Looker Studio.
Ability to move from data → finding → implication → recommendation.
Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
Demonstrated experience presenting analytical work directly to clients, senior stakeholders, or cross-functional teams.
Confidence contributing a point of view in meetings and responding to questions in real time.
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the larger business or strategic question.
Ability to manage ongoing analytical responsibilities for a major client while responding to emerging business questions and opportunities.
What you'll do
Analyze the full customer journey
Analyze performance across paid media, organic social, CRM, website, and other customer touchpoints.
Connect performance across channels to understand the broader customer journey rather than evaluating each source in isolation.
Identify what is working, what is not, where performance is changing, and what may be driving those changes.
Bring multiple data sources together to develop a clear, cohesive view of performance.
Proactively investigate performance changes and identify relevant questions or opportunities for deeper analysis without waiting for a predefined request.
Turn analysis into direction
Translate data into clear implications and actionable recommendations.
Partner closely with Strategy to connect performance with audience behavior, campaign objectives, and broader business questions.
Bring historical learnings into planning discussions to inform future campaigns, messaging, targeting, content, and customer experiences.
Develop hypotheses and identify opportunities for additional analysis, testing, or measurement.
Build a clear analytical point of view and confidently recommend next steps based on available evidence.
Partner directly with clients and agency teams
Serve as an active, fully participating member of the client team.
Present analysis, insights, and recommendations directly to clients.
Participate in client meetings, planning discussions, business reviews, and working sessions.
Answer analytical questions in real time and recognize when additional investigation is needed.
Explain complex performance data in clear, accessible language.
Develop a strong understanding of the client's business, marketing ecosystem, priorities, and KPIs.
Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and internal and external agency partners.
Strengthen measurement
Ensure reporting focuses on business and strategic implications rather than only channel-level metrics.
Establish appropriate benchmarks and performance comparisons.
Partner with internal and external teams to understand data definitions, methodologies, and limitations.
Identify measurement gaps and recommend ways to improve tracking, reporting, or data collection.
Data sources and platforms
The Senior Analyst should be comfortable working across multiple marketing and customer data environments. Required experience includes:
Web analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4), website behavior, traffic, engagement, conversion, and customer journey data
Organic social: Native analytics from Instagram/Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms
Social management and analytics: Dash Social and similar platforms
CRM: Customer, email, lifecycle, segmentation, engagement, retention, and conversion data
Paid media: Paid social, paid search, programmatic, display, video, and other media performance data
Reporting and analysis: Excel, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
Research and social intelligence: Social listening, audience research, competitive intelligence, or related data sources
What success looks like
Success in this role is not defined by producing more reports.
The Senior Analyst should help the client and agency develop a more complete understanding of how marketing is working across the customer journey and use that understanding to improve future decisions.
They should become a trusted analytical partner who helps turn performance into clearer recommendations, stronger strategy, and better-informed next steps.
The kind of person who will thrive in this role
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys both the analytical and human sides of the work.
You should be comfortable opening a complex dataset and figuring out what it is telling you, but equally comfortable sitting in a client meeting and explaining why it matters.
You don't need to know the answer before you start. You do need to be curious enough to ask the right questions, analytical enough to find the evidence, strategic enough to understand what it means, and confident enough to turn that evidence into a recommendation.
If you love finding the story in the data and like the idea that your analysis can ultimately help more pets find homes, we'd love to hear from you!
Video Submission Link (1 min. max); show us why you're brave! We're not looking for the highest quality editing, just good content.
