About the role

We file this job under Data Engineer, by the work the posting describes.

Data engineers build and run the pipelines that copy data out of apps and outside services into a warehouse or lake, and fix them when a source changes or a load fails.

Expect SQL, Python, a cloud platform, a scheduler such as Airflow, and often tools for large data such as Spark or Kafka.

An analytics engineer works one step later, turning the raw data a data engineer lands into clean tables people can query.

  • Design engineering solutions that balance support for critical analytical platforms with the reimagination of Gartner's future data, analytics and AI ecosystem.
  • Work with researchers, economists and data scientists to contextualize, visualize and communicate data in ways that improve understanding, decision-making and research impact.

What you will need:

  • Thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, balancing multiple priorities while proactively solving problems and driving outcomes.
  • Strong problem solver with excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical, robust production capabilities.
  • Effective communicator capable of translating technical concepts and business problems into scalable analytical solutions for business, research, and analytical audiences.
  • A collaborative builder who enjoys working across disciplines, contributing to team culture and turning ideas into scalable capabilities.
