Demand for Analyst roles

New Analyst postings at the employers we follow are up 18% over the last 5 weeks compared with the 5 before.

Weekly new Analyst postings at the same employers, from the week of August 17 to the week of October 26. The fewest in a week was 965, the most 1,385, and the latest week had 1,354.

About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in driving data-informed decisions that maximize business performance and deliver insights that help drive improved outcomes for healthcare providers.

You will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and reviewing data from multiple sources, developing reports and dashboards, and identifying key trends and patterns that inform process improvements. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business, analytics, or data science, have a strong aptitude for data manipulation tools, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively present findings to diverse audiences. This role suits someone who enjoys digging into data and contributing to projects that have a tangible impact on the organization’s growth.

  • Conduct foundational analyses on KPIs such as user engagement, retention, throughput, and campaign performance to identify trends and variances

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand data needs, translate them into report requirements, and support ad hoc analysis requests

  • Assist in building clear and interpretable “proof of concepts” from complex data sources to support tactical and strategic goals

  • Support data quality efforts by validating report accuracy and identifying inconsistencies across reporting platforms

  • Document reporting processes, definitions, and logic to ensure clarity and continuity

  • Recommend improvements to existing reports or dashboards to enhance usability, efficiency, or business relevance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data collection, standardization, and reporting consistency

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • You live our values with a positive attitude and respect for others

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in analytics, data science or related field

  • You have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and complex modeling; specifically - lookup functions, pivot tables, pivot charts, etc.

  • You have 1-2+ years of experience working in operations or other data-related fields, and have advanced analytical skills and the ability to distill complex analyses for management

  • You’re comfortable in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working cross-functionally, want to leave a stamp on the organization, and are the type of person who gets things done

  • You have a working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) tools, preferably Salesforce

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint

  • You are detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models and technologies

  • You are highly organized with the ability to prioritize and execute many concurrent tasks

BONUS POINTS
