Applying through Workday

  • You create an account with each employer before you can upload anything. Every Workday employer has its own account, so one sign-up doesn’t carry over.
  • “Autofill with Resume” comes right after sign-in, before the My Information and My Experience steps. Check every field it fills in those steps, since that’s what recruiters see.

About the role

We file this job under Data Leadership, by the work the posting describes.

Data leaders run data teams or design how a company's data fits together. Managers hire, set priorities and answer for whether the data work pays off; architects choose the systems and the shape of the data.

Expect years of hands-on data work, experience leading people or projects, and the ability to explain tradeoffs to executives.

Unlike a senior engineer or analyst, most of a data leader's week goes to people, planning and decisions rather than building.

The Company

Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes. Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health. That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health.

We are driven by thousands of ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.

Meet the team:

Dexcom's IT Data & Analytics team turns data into decisions that help people living with diabetes. We build and run the analytics platform, data products, and dashboards used across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Operations.

As Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence, you will lead a team of analysts and engineers in the U.S. and abroad, set the direction for how Dexcom reports and analyzes its data, and work with business leaders to bring analytics and AI-driven insights into everyday decisions. If you want your work to matter and you like building teams as much as building dashboards, you will fit in here.

Where you come in:

  • You lead, coach, and develop a global team of BI analysts and developers, including managed-service partners, and you set clear priorities, standards, and career paths.
  • You own the BI roadmap and work with a variety of business stakeholders such as Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial to turn their goals into prioritized analytics projects.
  • You oversee the platform management as well as the design, delivery, and support of enterprise dashboards, semantic models, and self-service reporting, mainly in Tableau and Power BI.
  • You work with Data Engineering and Data Architecture to keep curated data models in the cloud data platform reliable, well-governed, and scalable.
  • You set up and enforce BI governance, including certified data sources, KPI definitions, data quality checks, access controls, and documentation that meet Dexcom's regulated-environment requirements.
  • You run intake, demand, and capacity planning for your team, and you report on delivery, adoption, and business impact to IT and business leaders.
  • You drive platform modernization and new capabilities, including cloud BI, AI/ML-assisted analytics, and natural-language query.
  • You help manage vendor and licensing relationships for BI tools and help shape budget and resourcing decisions.

What makes you successful:

  • You have a track record of leading and growing high-performing BI or analytics teams, including people spread across time zones and offshore partners.
  • You have deep, hands-on experience using ana managing enterprise BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms, along with strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • You know modern cloud data stacks, such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms, along with dbt, Fivetran, and other ELT or orchestration tools.
  • You turn business problems into analytics solutions and explain insights clearly to executive audiences.
  • You bring a strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security practices.
  • You are skilled at stakeholder management, prioritization, and running delivery with Agile methods.
  • Your experience in medical devices, life sciences, or another regulated industry; knowledge of ERP data such as Oracle Fusion or SAP; Tableau or Power BI certifications; and exposure to AI/ML or GenAI analytics are nice to have.

What you’ll get:

  • A front row seat to life changing CGM technology. Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community.
  • A full and comprehensive benefits program.
  • Growth opportunities on a global scale.
  • Access to career development through in-house learning programs and/or qualified tuition reimbursement.
  • An exciting and innovative, industry-leading organization committed to our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Travel Required:

  • 0-5%

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline with 13+ years of industry experience.
