Sidecar Health’s Business Analytics team is looking for a Staff Data Analytics Engineer to build the data foundation our product teams rely on.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, Business Analytics.
Design and maintain dbt and semantic models in Snowflake for key product metrics
Build pipelines from ingestion through transformation when needed
Turn roadmap goals and feature hypotheses into measurable success metrics
Identify data collection gaps and drive fixes with Product and Engineering
Build AI-ready semantic models, metric definitions, and documentation
Sidecar Health’s Business Analytics team is looking for a Staff Data Analytics Engineer to build the data foundation our product teams rely on. You’ll embed with Product and own the path from raw data to a metric people trust: designing data models, building pipelines when needed, defining the metrics that show whether product work is succeeding, and closing gaps in the data we collect. You’ll work in a Snowflake-first stack and use AI tools like Claude and Snowflake Cortex to move faster, with the judgment to validate what they produce. Our data environment is complex but modest in volume, with limited history, so you can shape the data model early. We operate in a regulated healthcare setting where privacy and compliance are built into how we work.

New Analytics Engineer postings at the employers we follow are down 9% over the last 5 weeks compared with the 5 before.

Counted from the hiring pages we’ve followed for at least five weeks, so employers we add don’t look like growth. Updated weekly.
We file this job under Analytics Engineer, by the work the posting describes.
Analytics engineers turn raw warehouse data into clean, tested and documented tables that analysts and dashboards can rely on, often with dbt.
Expect strong SQL, data modeling, Git, and a warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift.
A data engineer gets data into the warehouse; an analytics engineer shapes it once it is there and works closer to the analysts who use it.
The government has no code for analytics engineers, so these figures are for the closest group, database architects, the same group we use for data engineers.
