This is a full-time, remote / hybrid-work position, with only 1 opening.

Your mission is to ensure Circles Global does the right things, in the right ways. 

We value safety and simplicity: this means you'll own policies, processes, and rapid responses that keep our customers safe and our business compliant — while slashing red tape and minimising paperwork so it's easy for our teams to remain flexible and creative.

You'll be the third member of the Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team — part of the Founder's Office — reporting directly to the global GAPP lead based in Singapore, which in turn reports to the Founders. We are nimble, but humble. This means you'll have the authority to work across our entire leadership bench; but no task, process, or person will ever be beneath us.

As part of the broader Founder’s Office, you’ll be a high-performer in a fast-paced office. But specifically for this role, we need you to be:

‣ Someone who enjoys creating delightful processes and details: as you'll be razor-focused on optimising compliance ops for customers and colleagues.
‣ Highly organized: capable of juggling a dozen+ workstreams, breaking them down into steps, and tracking their progress.
‣ A sharp thinker and reader, who can learn new technical / economic / legal language, with attention to tone and nuance.
‣ A clear and precise communicator who can explain complex ideas simply, over calls or emails, to anyone in the organisation.
‣ Competent in qualitative (and simple quantitative) analysis.
‣ A joy to work with: on Zoom, in person, and for contractors and Founders alike."
This is a group-level role based in Philippines or Sri Lanka.

‣ Monitor key compliance requirements globally, including ongoing obligations and periodic regulatory reporting

‣ Conduct periodic audits of varying scale, from quarterly audits of selected compliance requirements to ongoing checks on minor details (e.g. whether website text is compliant to advertising rules)

‣ Fix and streamline internal operations on an ongoing basis; such as product flows and new / existing employee training

‣ Triage and solve regulatory inquiries from other teams, who may need to understand new incoming rules or check how new products should be launched

‣ Maintain and simplify self-help guides to compliance, and trust & safety on our company Intranet (Innerspace)

‣ Propose and initiate other strategic compliance programmes, with safety and simplicity in mind — you should be someone who's always looking to make us better!"

  • No prior experience with regulation in any jurisdiction is required. You'll get rigorous training and experience as part of the role, with close guidance and support all the way.
  • Excellent command in spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia, Taiwanese Mandarin, Urdu, or any other regional language is welcome but not necessary."
  • Exceptional levels of competence in, and motivation for, fixing and simplifying processes.
  • A great personality and sense of humour. This is crucial: you'll need to be able to work with almost anyone in the organisation, often in stressful, time-sensitive situations, and influence them to do the right thing even when it's not easy.
