TEAM OVERVIEW

KKR’s Infrastructure and Technical Operations team manages firm wide infrastructure from servers to collaboration tools to end-user technology. The team facilitates enablement of our technology and identifies opportunities for growth through innovation, compliance, the desire for automation. The team provides frontline and desk-side support to centralize and standardize procedures and also leverage new technology for business needs. The team consists of highly innovative and technical members with the ability to optimize our resources and solve critical problems.

POSITION SUMMARY

KKR is seeking an experienced Senior End-User Engineer with a focus on desktop engineering and cloud-based endpoint management As KKR continues to expand its business and invest in new technology, you will play a critical role in enhancing the end-user experience for critical existing systems and contributing to new solutions. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing systems and tools that provide end-user facing solutions for users across the global KKR footprint. As a senior-level engineer, you will provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure that our technology solutions meet business requirements. This role offers exciting opportunities for growth and impact as KKR scales its business and continues to innovate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own, engineer, and optimize global fleet-management technologies, including SCCM, JAMF, Intune, Aiden, NextThink,
  • Perform engineering and support escalation related to the Microsoft AVD VDIaaS infrastructure
  • Engineering / support / administration of the Microsoft Intune MDM stack
  • Drive adoption of cloud-based endpoint management and infrastructure platform. Manage infrastructure and configurations by code.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team responsible for virtualization technologies, end user automation, and SaaS solutions
  • Work closely with other functional support groups and external vendors to Implement an integrate third party applications and solutions into our internal Infrastructure
  • Work collaboratively with IT Infrastructure to develop and deliver products that are scalable and reliable
  • Establish end user engineering best practices
  • Mitigate technical debt on the software and hardware platform used by our end users
  • Recognize system deficiencies and propose / implement effective solutions
  • Provide Level 3 support for Windows Desktops. OS Deployment, Debugging, Performance tuning and optimization, customization, implementation of security settings and best practices
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on workstations and solutions handled by The Global End User Services team
  • Escalate incidents as necessary to our Platform Engineering, Network Engineering, Application Engineering, and any other support groups and 3rd party partners
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts
  • Has a strong understanding of desktop/laptop security patching processes, which includes coordination with the IT and Security Management; monitors OS and application critical security software patches and updates.
  • Identifies and evaluates hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • [7] years of desktop engineering experience with cloud-based platforms or distributed systems, preferably at a large financial institution
  • [3] years of software development or strong scripting experience (ideally related to systems automation, IaC, etc),
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Science, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Apple-based systems, Android / iOS, Intune and JAMF

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Must have solid knowledge and understanding of active directory and AAD
  • Advanced knowledge of sophisticated and diverse computing hardware, including desktop, laptop, tablets and mobile devices (iOS and Android)
  • Expertise with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in the cloud (ideally AVD)
  • Working knowledge of networking, including knowledge of subnets, routing, firewalls
  • Extensive experience with various operating systems, including Windows 10, iOS, OS X, active directory etc.
  • Expertise with MDM technologies like InTune, JAMF, Autopilot
  • Advanced knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities. Expert troubleshooting, problem solving and logic skills.
  • Experience working in an ITIL-driven environment and working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes.
  • Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, manage tickets.
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly, business-friendly and technical language.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines; solve problems requiring creativity, initiative and drive; self-motivated and enjoys a sense of pride in their accomplishments.
  • Maintain professional, healthy relationships with all fellow team members and management and demonstrate awareness of support issues/needs as they apply on a company-wide and business basis; adept in creating/maintaining documentation to support, enforce standards, policies and processes.

This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range
$130,000$160,000 USD
