Senior Software Engineer

Mission Overview & Responsibilities:

  • You will design and implement edge infrastructure and traffic shaping techniques using CDN, service mesh, DNS and GeoIP routing, ensuring resiliency and scalability of our platforms. 
  • You will work within multiple areas of focus such as observability, secrets management, deployment pipeline, and containerization to research and propose solutions that accelerate development and improve efficiency. 
  • Accelerate adoption of Delivery Engineering tooling and solutions. 
  • Work with engineering teams to learn about needs, shaping solutions and helping them migrate to cloud infrastructure. 
  • Contribute to our mission of reaching 10+ million paid subscribers by 2025

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of solid programming experience in at least one of Go, Python, Java, Scala, JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Edge network design and implementation using CDNs, service mesh, DNS, and geo-targeting, built with a focus on resiliency and scale. 
  • An understanding of traffic management patterns used with cloud-based deployments on Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform. 
  • 1 or more years of experience in Docker and Kubernetes.
  • 1 or more years of experience in HashiCorp tooling, specifically Terraform and Vault.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building Kubernetes operators in Go 
  • Content Distribution with Fastly 
  • Experience with DNS 
  • Load balancing, networking, DNS, and traffic management with AWS 
  • Work with application teams to deliver their apps and services to edge networks. 
  • A good grasp of multi-tier application architecture and concepts of networking, load balancing, monitoring and *nix OS.

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$140,000$155,000 USD
